Old TV

This is an ever-growing list of Mystery TV shows that I have enjoyed.
They are available through Netflix,  Acorn, and Amazon Prime.
Many can be streamed.
Your recommendations would be appreciated!

First season: BBC AMERICA’s “Broadchurch,”  centers on the investigation into the murder of a young boy in a British seaside town. Leading the investigation are two detectives – the strong yet compassionate local Detective Sergeant, Ellie Miller, and the by-the-book Detective Inspector Alec Hardy, Ellie’s newly appointed boss.
By circumstance they are partnered to solve the murder, keeping the newspapers from derailing the investigation and trying to prevent the crime from impacting tourism at the beach where the boy was murdered.

Death Comes to PemberleyDeath Comes to Pemberley
Welsh-born actor Matthew Rhys takes on the role of Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy in the TV adaptation of P.D. James 2011 novel. James’s story follows up Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, picking up six years after Darcy married Elizabeth Bennet, played by Anna Maxwell Martin.  Jenna Coleman takes on the role of Elizabeth’s sister Lydia who shows up to the Pemberley estate unexpectedly, throwing things off kilter. Soon after Lydia’s arrival a murder takes place, setting off a trigger of events, revealing family secrets that had been safely tucked away.

Bletchley CircleThe Bletchley Circle
With an extraordinary flair for code breaking and razor-sharp intelligence skills, four seemingly ordinary women become the unlikely investigators of a string of grisly murders in this original thriller, set against the backdrop of post-war London.
Susan, , Millie, Lucy, and Jean  have returned to post-war domesticity, modestly setting aside the part they played in the Allied victory. Their brilliant work at top security HQ Bletchley Park helped crack the codes used by the German military, producing crucial intelligence that shortened the war.

Described by The Wall Street Journal as “a triumph from start to finish.” Set along the South Coast of England in the 1940s, Foyle’s War stars Michael Kitchen as Christopher Foyle, the straightforward sleuth who fights his own battles on the home front while war rages across Europe.
