Several of these recipes have been
featured in the Murder Blog Mysteries.
They are all favorites of mine!
Nothing fancy, definitely delicious,
and most are pretty darn easy.
I wouldn’t share if I didn’t love them!
And I am only including recipes that my
dinner guests asked for the recipe.
I hope you enjoy them!

DOUBLE-DELIGHT
PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES
It’s a twist on the classic peanut butter
cookie! Crunchy outside, creamy inside,
with just a hint of cinnamon.
It won the Pillsbury Bakeoff in 2008!
Everyone who tries them, goes “nuts!”
Soon after my first book,
Dead Girls Don’t Blog was released,
I was thrilled to be asked to submit a couple
of my favorite recipes for a cookbook
featuring recipes from cozy mystery
writers by Nancy Lynn Jarvis, author of the
Regan McHenry Real Estate Mysteries.

The easiest lemon pie I have ever made!
Really delicious!
If you have Meyer Lemons – use those.

I found this incredible recipe a few years ago,
while watching a Food Network contest
using cake mixes. Normally, I never use a cake
mix, because I always detect a funny taste,
which is actually funny, since I was raised on
box cake mixes. but these cupcakes are amazing.

Katy planned to make yummy this pie
for her new neighbors,
but it never made it across the street.
This pie ain’t pretty, but it’s incredible.
And so simple to make. Better the next day.

CAFE MUSE
GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH
I discovered this incredible sandwich many
years ago on the Oprah Show.
I can’t believe the last show
was way back in 2011.
The original recipe calls for three cheeses –
Havarti, Mozzarella, and Danish Fontina,
but almost any cheese will do.
It’s the basil and honey that makes it special.

From Hugo’s Restaurant in Studio City.
Fresh pasta scrambled with eggs, garlic,
parsley, Parmesan cheese and
Hugo’s special seasoning mix.
I saw this on an old episode of
“Best Thing I Ever Ate” on the Food Channel.
It is delicious and easy to prepare.
I’ve served it many times at dinner parties
and never had leftovers.

I found a version of this recipe online,
but it called for chili powder and jalapenos–
too spicy for my husband (after throat cancer).
I made this mild version for the family and
they LOVED it. Even my toddler grandson.
Katy McKenna loves it too.
Plus, it’s super easy to make,
so that’s probably why.

MUSHROOM WELLINGTON
I made this with my dear friend, Jeri, while
visiting her cozy home on Whidbey Island.
It’s a bit of work, but well worth it!
We had fun making it together. We enjoyed a
good red wine with it, while watching
a mystery on PBS.
Ha!! I look like I know what I’m doing!
The leftovers were amazing!

MUSHROOM PIE
Wonderful. This recipe was given to me
by a dear man who’d been a Army military
sniper in the Middle East. He carries a heavy
burden in his heart.
